Creating a new prompt from a premade prompt

One thing I’ve learned when creating art, is never to copy someone’s prompt word for word, you may copy a prompt and switch stuff around or find out how their prompt works to create your own art, but never ever copy someone’s prompt.

For instance, today I was looking at a post Top 50 text Top 50 Text-to-Image Prompts for AI Art Generators Mid journey and DALL-E and one of the prompts stuck out to me it was prompt number 14: full body character + beautiful female neopunk wizard opening a portal to the sidereal multiverse. I liked the photo and knew there would be something I could work with and tweak to turn it into a whole new piece of work. I’ll break the steps I used down so that someone could switch a piece of art up and turn it into a new piece of art.

Today I am using Playground AI for my examples with no filters, but you're free to use whatever site and filter you want for yours. Step 1: Change the elements I want to change

I took to Diction-ai-ri, Stable Diffusion Modifiers study, and my own brain for my new ideas.

full body character + beautiful female neopunk wizard opening a portal to the sidereal multiverse

Beautiful became Sinister Neopunk became Death punk Wizard became necromancer

Sidereal multiverse became underworld

full body character + sinister female death punk necromancer opening a portal to the underworld

With a little magic, the prompt I revamped is nothing close to the original photo.

You can always stop here and leave your photo as is, but I’m the kind that likes throwing my own take into the work.

Step 2: Making a list of prompt details I want to add to the photo I love using something like Promptomania and Phraser to help me out. For this artwork I want it to be extremely close up with some artificial and studio lighting. My prompt ended up look looking like this

full body character + beautiful female deathpunk necromancer opening a portal to the underworld, extreme closeup, Artificial Lighting, Studio Lighting

With an outcome like this

Step 3: Researching other elements to add. This is usually the time I search for artists, and any other modifiers I think may bring my picture to life and make it truly my own. Diction-ai-ri, AIA and a view from AI gives me more ideas that I want to add. Today I went something a little out of my normal. I added Acrylic paint and graphite on wood, and the term dystopian to my photo. I don't know why I chose acrylic paint and graphite on wood, but that's all good! It's what artists do sometimes

Now my prompt looks like this:

Acrylic paint and graphite on wood full body character + beautiful female deathpunk necromancer opening a portal to the underworld, extreme Closeup, Artificial Lighting, Studio Lighting, dystopian

Extra step Saving my skeleton prompt for later. If you're like me I usually save my skeleton prompts for later, in case I want to create something close to my necromancer for later, and it’ll still be from my list of prompts.

A skeleton prompt as I call it, is almost a Mad Libs/Fill in the blank prompt I can put whatever I want into later Acrylic paint and graphite on wood full body character + {adjective} {gender} {aesthetic} {role of character} opening a portal to {place}, exrteme Closeup, Artificial Lighting, Studio Lighting, {a word to bring it together} So later all I can add what I want for instance:

Acrylic paint and graphite on wood full body character + tired female macabre wizard opening a portal to Atlantis, extreme Closeup, Artificial Lighting, Studio Lighting, whimsical

Have a wonderful holiday my dark artists and remember to stay spooky!
